A Letter from Dr. Kimberly F. Boone
Our Heavenly Father is the God of Restoration, and He promised each of us exactly that in Jeremiah 30:17, “I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord!” This promise offers us hope for any situation.
So, what does the God of Restoration do? HE RESTORES!
That means He recovers, mends, rebuilds, and renews. In fact, He specializes in making all things new! The desire of our Heavenly Father’s heart has always been to bring us into a new life and the future He prepared for us.
The restorative work of Christ is personal for me because He took the broken pieces of my life and put them together in such a way that I am now able to see and continuously become the version of myself He called me to be. Having struggled with anxiety, depression, addiction, and deep-seated guilt and shame for most of my life, I found it difficult to comprehend the love of our Heavenly Father and to extend that love to myself. I wrestled with self-hate and often felt inadequate and insecure, which caused me to be dependent upon the acceptance and approval of others.
While almost always smiling, I was consumed with fear, loneliness, sadness, and bitterness. My compromised mental and emotional state caused me to battle suicidal thoughts almost daily, but God healed my heart and offered me restoration. Since I had taken to walking in labels from my past that were not serving me well – things like fat, ugly, stupid, and not enough, I decided to take a chance and just try on what God called me. I began embracing terms like “lovable” as truth in and for my life. As I began to see myself according to the Word of God, He further revealed who I really am. It continues to be a process, but each day I am freer through the restorative work of Jesus.
Be encouraged and rest knowing that the same redemptive love is available to you! The fact that you are reading this right now is proof that Love, Himself is on an unstoppable quest to save, heal and restore you back to His original intention for your life, which has always been a future of hope, peace, and wholeness.
Our Heavenly Father is the One Who restores, but He does so through people. If you find yourself ready to work toward a better life and future, I look forward to walking alongside you and guiding you into a deeper knowledge of what He says about you and your life. There is no place or situation you cannot come back from because, in Christ, restoration knows no barriers.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kimberly
